Based in Washington, D.C., Emily Benson manages the international business portfolio for Sequoia Legal, LLC. Emily serves as a liaison to Washington's trade community and maintains relationships across wide networks ranging from government officials and corporate business owners and budding entrepreneurs. She also supports the firm's communications strategies, including digital platform work and content creation.
She has extensive experience in communications, event planning and public diplomacy, including serving as national secretary for an organization in Switzerland, a position that required fluidity across multicultural business and political environments.
Emily is a former Trade Section trainee at the European Union Delegation to the United States in Washington, D.C. She also worked as Executive Legal Assistant at Schuchat International Law Firm, LLC from 2014 to 2016. In that position, in addition to legal and office management tasks, she planned itineraries and organized events for visiting dignitaries since the firm doubled as Belgium's Honorary Consulate. She also corresponded with the Embassy in DC and handled consular affairs in French.
A Midwesterner with a global spirit, Emily received her bachelor's degree in international relations from the University of Colorado and her master's degree in international trade policy from the University of Geneva in Switzerland. She has lived and worked in France, Indonesia, the U.S., and Switzerland.
